Roland-Garros: Avanesyan moves into third round
Elina Avanesyan won against Anna Blinkova 6-3, 6-0 on Thursday evening. She’ll face the winner of the match between Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 7 seed, and German Tamara Korpatsch in the next round
Elina Avanesyan reached the third round of Roland-Garros by defeating Anna Blinkova 6-3, 6-0 at Roland-Garros in Paris on Thursday evening.
Avanesyan, ranked No 70, will play the winner of the match between Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 7 seed, and German Tamara Korpatsch next.
Ahead of her victory, Elina Avanesyan won against Chinese Lin Zhu (6-2, 6-4).
Blinkova, ranked No 55, edged out Romanian Sorana Cirstea, the No 28 seed (6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (5)) in the previous round.
