Russian Mirra Andreeva defeated Frenchwoman Varvara Gracheva 7-5, 6-2 to move into the quarter-finals of Roland-Garros at Roland-Garros in Paris on Monday.
Andreeva, ranked No 38, will face Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the 17-year-old Russian won against American Emina Bektas (6-2, 6-3), Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, the No 19 seed (6-3, 3-6, 7-5) and American Peyton Stearns (6-2, 6-1).
Gracheva, ranked No 88, won against Greek Maria Sakkari, the No 6 seed (3-6, 6-4, 6-3), American Bernarda Pera (6-1, 6-3) and Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu (7-5, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
