Roland-Garros: 29th seed Kudermetova through to third round

Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 29 seed ,is through to the third round of Roland-Garros for the second time after scoring a 6-3, 6-3 win over Serbian qualifier Aleksandra Krunic 6-3, 6-3 in Paris on Thursday.

This marks the fourth time that Kudermetova has reached the third round of a Grand Slam (twice at the French Open and twice at the Australian Open).

Kudermetova has reached the final at three WTA events in 2022, in Melbourne, Dubai and Istanbul.

She will be hoping to reach the round of 16 at a Grand Slam for the first time when she faces either third seed Paula Badosa or Slovenia’s Kaja Juvan.
