Murray-Evans get doubles wildcard for Roland-Garros
The Brit duo will be teaming up for the third time in their careers
Andy Murray and countryman Dan Evans have received a wildcard into the Roland-Garros men’s doubles main draw, French Open organziers announced on Wednesday.
With an eye on teaming up for the Olympics in Paris later this year, the pair have decided to enter the second Grand Slam of the season.
This will be the third time that the Brits are partnering one another in doubles – reaching the second round in Indian Wells in 2017 and in Washington in 2023.
Murray’s last appearance in a Grand Slam men’s doubles draw was with Pierre-Hugues Herbert in 2019 and prior to that with Ross Hutchins at the 2008 US Open.
Murray is currently ranked No 345 in the world in doubles while Evans is ranked 285th.
The other teams receiving wild cards in the men’s doubles draw were all-French pairs.
