‘I don’t think it’s a subject we should talk about’ Seyboth Wild brushes off questions about ex-girlfriend’s allegations
Thiago Seyboth Wild refused to speak about the allegations made by his ex-girlfriend
In the press conference immediately after the biggest win of his career, defeating second seed Daniil Medvedev in the Roland-Garros first round, Thiago Seyboth Wild was asked about the allegations of abuse made by his ex-girlfriend.
According to Brazilian media in 2021, Thayane Lima accused him of physical and psychological violence, with a police investigation ensuing; Brazilian outlet UOL also reported that she had taken out a restraining order against him. Seyboth Wild denied all the allegations then in a statement, describing them as “false, fabricated and vengeful”.

And he refused to talk about it to journalists in Paris when asked what he expected to happen, replying: “I don’t think it’s a subject we should talk about it right here. I don’t think it’s a question you should be making to anybody. I don’t think it comes to you to decide whether it’s a place to be spoken of or not.”
When pressed, he responded: “You can write whatever you want,” clarifying only that he had never been married to Lima.
