Tennis bodies launch fundraising campaign to support those impacted by Turkey and Syria earthquakes
The tennis bodies have come together to launch “Tennis Plays for Love”
The seven bodies involved in professional tennis – the International Tennis Federation, the ATP Tour, the WTA Tour, and the four Grand Slams (the Australian Open, Roland-Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open), have come together to launch a fundraising campaign called “Tennis Plays for Love” in support of those impacted by last week’s earthquakes that have devastated Turkey and Syria.
The earthquakes in Turkey and Syria and the resulting aftershocks have resulted in the death of more than 35,000 people and impacted the lives of millions of other citizens in the two countries. The situation has become even more dire due to the freezing winter conditions which has led to an urgent need for blankets, shelter, food and clean water for citizens in both nations.
The campaign will include a joint donation by the seven bodies and will go towards Global Giving’s Turkey and Syria Earthquake Relief Fund, which provides emergency relief and help in long-term recovery efforts.
Tennis fans can also contribute to the initiative by donating via the fund’s official page, which can be accessed on this link.
