Djokovic, Swiatek top seeds for Paris Olympics singles events – updated after Sinner withdrawal and mixed doubles list

Gauff/ Pegula are top seeds for the women’s doubles event

Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek have been named top seeds for the men’s and women’s singles events at the Paris Olympics. Djokovic was moved into the top seed position after world No 1 Jannik Sinner withdrew from the event on Wednesday due to illness.

The seedings for the singles events have followed by the world rankings, with Djokovic followed by Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz as the No 2 seed and defending gold medallist Alexander Zverev as the No 3 seed.

Denmark’s Holger Rune who was seeded 12tth, has also pulled out due to a wrist injury.

On the women’s side, Swiatek is followed by world No 2 Coco Gauff and world No 4 Elena Rybakina (world No 3 Aryna Sabalenka is not competing in Paris this time).

Gauff/ Pegula named top seeds for Women’s doubles

For the doubles events, the ITF has used a combination of best singles/ doubles rankings of the players to come up with the seedings.

Based on that criteria, Americans Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula have been named as top seeds for the women’s doubles event, followed by Czech duo Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova.

Italians Jannik Sinner and Lorenzo Musetti were named as the top seeds in the men’s doubles event but with Sinner withdrawing that would undergo a change.

Zverev/ Siegemund named top seeds in mixed doubles

Alexander Zverev and Laura Siegemund have been named as top seeds for the mixed doubles event followed by Americans Taylor Fritz and Coco Gauff.
