Serena Williams returns… with two Super Bowl commercials
The 41-year-old starred in commercials for Remy Martin cognac and Michelob Ultra during Super Bowl LVII
Serena Williams may have retired or as she would like to call it ‘evolved’ away from tennis. But the 41-year-old was a big part of one of sports’ biggest nights – the Super Bowl – by starring in not one, but two, commercials.
Williams’ first appearance at Super Bowl LVII came in the first quarter with a commercial for Remy Martin cognac, where the 23-time Grand Slam singles champion delivered Al Pacino’s epic speech from the movie ‘Any Given Sunday’ where the actor tries to get a fractured team back together during the half-time of their game.
A little later, Serena Williams was back – for a second commercial – this time for Michelob Ultra, in which she is seen playing golf.
Williams, who is currently the second highest earning female athlete in the world, behind Japan’s Naomi Osaka, tweeted that she was “still so speechless” about her twin commercials.
Once her two Super Bowl commercials were on the air, Williams sat back and enjoyed pop superstar Rihanna’s Super Bowl half-time show just like the rest of us did. And for those keeping track, the Kansas City Chiefs scored a thrilling 38-35 win over the Philadelphia Eagles to win Super Bowl LVII.
