Olympics: Top seeds Gauff/ Pegula exit women’s doubles event in round of 16
The Americans were defeated by Czech duo Linda Noskova/ Karolina Muchova in three sets

The top-seeded American duo, Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula, were knocked out of the women’s doubles event on Wednesday by Czech duo Linda Noskova/ Karolina Muchova.
The Czech duo bounced back from the loss of the first set to win 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 and advance to the quarter-finals.
Noskova/ Muchova will play Chinese Taipei’s Su-Wei Hsieh/ Chia Yi Tsao, who advanced to the last eight with a walkover from Ukrainian duo Marta Kostyuk/ Dayana Yastremska.
Gauff and Pegula were already knocked out of the women’s singles event earlier. Gauff remains in the mixed doubles competition where she is through to the quarter-finals with Taylor Fritz.
