‘Master’ Nadal hailed as Esquire Man of the Year
He can’t stop picking up prizes – here’s the Spaniard’s latest
Rafael Nadal has picked up yet another honour – this time named Man of the Year by Esquire magazine.
The magazine explained that the award goes to a person who inspires and motivates everyone else not “only to be the best version of ourselves…but to go further, with more strength and above all more commitment.”
They praised Nadal for being “a master of rebirth”, and knowing not just how to succeed but how to fall – and marking an eventful year with first-time parenthood.
Nadal won both the Australian Open and Roland-Garros in 2022, meaning his Grand Slam tally moved on to 22, taking an outright lead among the Big Three.
He also suffered with an ongoing chronic foot condition plus a rib injury as well as a stomach issue that forced him out of Wimbledon.
