Del Potro: Maybe I’ll play the US Open next year…if Argentina win the World Cup
Who wouldn’t want to see the Tower of Tandil back in New York?

It’s seemed as if Juan Martin del Potro has accepted that his recurring injury issues have finally ended his tennis career.
But perhaps Argentina winning the World Cup might give him a new boost – according to an exchange on Twitter.
A fan asked him (in Spanish): “Delpo, if Argentina become champions, you will play the US Open next year – what do you think?”
“I’ll do my best,” replied the 2009 US Open champion.
The 34-year-old last played on tour at the ATP 250 event in Buenos Aires in February.
He reached a career-high ranking of world No 3 as recently as August 2018 but has been hampered throughout his career by wrist problems and in the last few years by painful knee injuries.
