Carreno Busta bounces back to secure Spain’s win over Ecuador in Davis Cup
The world No 20 needed three sets to confirm his nation’s win in their opening Davis Cup tie of the Finals

Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta had to come from a set down in Madrid to beat Emilio Gomez of Ecuador 5-7, 6-3, 7-6(5) – and confirm his country’s victory in Group A of the Davis Cup.
Feliciano Lopez had had an easier task in the day’s opening singles match, defeating Roberto Quiroz 6-3, 6-3. The Ecuadorian had five break points but failed to take any of them.
Carreno Busta and Marcel Granollers paired up for the last match of the day and won the doubles to complete the sweep, beating Gonzalo Escobar and Diego Hidalgo 6-4, 6-7(5), 7-6(2).
