The winners will be announced at the Laureus Sports Awards in Madrid on April 21

Carlos Alcaraz, Aryna Sabalenka and wheelchair star Tokito Oda have all been nominated for the coveted Laureus Sports Awards.
Alcaraz, who won Wimbledon and Roland-Garros in 2024, is nominated for the sportsman of the year prize, while Sabalenka, who triumphed at the US Open and Australian Open, is nominated in the sportswoman of the year category.
Oda is nominated in the world sportsperson of the year with a disability category, having come from match point down to win the gold medal at the Paralympics .
Jannik Sinner, who won the Australian Open and US Open titles in 2024, was withdrawn from the nominations due to his drugs case. The Italian failed two drugs tests in March 2022, and though he was not considered to have cheated, he accepted a three-month ban, admitting responsibility for what goes into his system.
