Fritz edges Draper in Olympics second round
The American made it through to the next round in hot conditions
Taylor Fritz came back from a set down against Jack Draper to make it through the second round of the Olympic Games, 6-7 (3), 6-3, 6-2, in the sweltering Paris heat.
Draper had his chances to capitalise on his first-set lead, but failed to take any of the six break points he had in the third game of the second set.
Both players were visibly uncomfortable in the conditions, with Draper making the most of the changeovers to cool himself down with ice.
Fritz will next play Lorenzo Musetti, who beat Mariano Navone 7-6 (2), 6-3.
Elsewhere, Felix Auger-Aliassime beat Maximilian Marterer 6-0, 6-1, and Alexei Popyrin secured a third-round spot against Alexander Zverev by beating Stan Wawrinka 6-4, 7-5.
And another American made it through, as ninth seed Tommy Paul beat Czech Jakub Mensik 6-3, 6-1.
