Berrettini, Monfils, Schwartzman…a stacked Challenger in Phoenix
Matteo Berrettini and Diego Schwartzman lead the field in Arizona
While the Indian Wells Masters 1000 is entering its final stretch this week, the Arizona Tennis Classic will be held in parallel with a field worthy of a major tour event.
The $220,000 Challenger event in Phoenix (on hard court) will see a number of eliminated Indian Wells competitors return to the field, not the least of which are Matteo Berrettini, Diego Schwartzman and Gael Monfils, all of whom have applied for wild cards after being quickly eliminated in California.
Berrettini is the top seed, and begins his campaign against Ilya Ivashka. Schwartzman, the second seed, will face Nuno Borges, while Monfils will take on a qualifier.
The complete draw for the Arizona Tennis Classic can be found here.
