China’s Qinwen Zheng, the No 3 seed, advanced to the last four of the BBVA Open Internacional De Valencia by winning against Hungarian Reka-Luca Jani 7-6 [4], 6-0 on Friday evening.
Zheng, ranked No 54, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the top seed, and Austrian Julia Grabher next.
Ahead of her victory, the 19-year-old Chinese beat Spaniard Andrea Lazaro Garcia (6-4, 6-2) and Romanian Irina Bara (4-6, 6-3, 6-0).
Jani, ranked No 138, won against No 8 seed Dalma Galfi (6-3, 6-2) and edged out Spaniard qualifier Leyre Romero Gormaz (6-3, 6-7 [6], 6-4) in the previous rounds.
