BBVA Open Internacional De Valencia: Wang makes semi-finals

Chinese Xiyu Wang edged out Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 [5] to advance to the semi-finals of the BBVA Open Internacional De Valencia on Friday afternoon.
Wang, ranked No 111, will face Swede Mirjam Bjorklund next.
The 21-year-old Chinese won against Romanian Ana Bogdan, the No 7 seed (6-1, 7-5) and edged out Spaniard Rebeka Masarova (4-6, 7-5, 7-5) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Tomova, ranked No 131, defeated Italian Sara Errani (6-4, 6-3) and Russian Varvara Gracheva, the second seed (0-6, 6-3, 6-1).
