Paul avenges Adelaide loss to Draper, advances to third round in Melbourne

What a difference a week makes.

Last Thursday in Adelaide, Jack Draper defeated Tommy Paul 6-1, 6-4. They faced each other exactly one week later, this time in round two of the Australian Open. And this time it was a much different story. Paul avenged his Adelaide loss by beating Draper 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.

The world No 14 will next play the winner of the match between Serb Miomir Kecmanovic and German Jan-Lennard Struff, the No 24 seed.

In the previous round, Paul beat Frenchman Gregoire Barrere (6-2, 6-3, 6-3). Draper, ranked No 55, outlasted American Marcos Giron (6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2) in the first round.
