Noskova holds off Kessler to advance in Melbourne
Linda Noskova edged out Mccartney Kessler 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 on Thursday in Melbourne. Noskova could face Iga Swiatek in the last 32.

Linda Noskova edged out American wild card Mccartney Kessler 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 to advance to the third round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Thursday afternoon.
Noskova, ranked No 50, will face the winner of the match between world No 1 Iga Swiatek and American Danielle Collins.
Noskova preceded Thursday’s win by beating No 31 seed Marie Bouzkova (6-1, 7-5).
In the previous round, Kessler — ranked No 206 — defeated French qualifier Fiona Ferro (3-6, 6-3, 6-2).
