Australian Open: Vekic wins in third set tiebreak to set up Samsonova clash
Donna Vekic edged out Oksana Selekhmeteva 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7) in a match carried over from Tuesday due to the rain

Croatian Donna Vekic advanced to the second round of the Australian Open by edging out Russian qualifier Oksana Selekhmeteva 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7) at Melbourne Park in a rain-delayed match on Wednesday.
The match was suspended with Vekic leading 5-1 in the final set tiebreak on Tuesday.
Vekic, ranked No 64, will play Russian Liudmila Samsonova, the No 18 seed, next.
