Australian Open: Tiafoe stunned by Machac as Czech makes third round

Tomas Machac won against American Frances Tiafoe, the No 17 seed, 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 (5) to move into the third round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park.

Machac, ranked No 75, will face Russian Karen Khachanov, the No 15 seed, next.

Tomas Machac beat Japanese lucky loser Shintaro Mochizuki (7-5, 6-1, 7-5) in the previous round.

In the previous round, Tiafoe, ranked No 17, won against Croat Borna Coric (6-3, 7-6 (7), 2-6, 6-3).
