Australian Open: Siegemund knocks out 17th seed Alexandrova
Laura Siegemund edged out Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (9) on Monday. She’ll face Australian qualifier Storm Hunter in the next round

German Laura Siegemund moved into the second round of the Australian Open by edging out Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 17 seed, 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (9) at Melbourne Park on Monday.
Siegemund, ranked No 78, will face Australian qualifier Storm Hunter next.
