Australian Open: Sabalenka moves into third round, dismisses 16-year-old Fruhvirtova
Aryna Sabalenka defeated Brenda Fruhvirtova 6-3, 6-2 on Wednesday night. She’ll face the winner of the match between Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko, the No 28 seed, and Spaniard Rebeka Masarova in the next round

Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed, won against qualifier Brenda Fruhvirtova 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the third round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Wednesday night.
Sabalenka, ranked No 2, will face the winner of the match between Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko, the No 28 seed, and Spaniard Rebeka Masarova next.
Ahead of her victory, the Belarusian defeated German qualifier Ella Seidel (6-0, 6-1).
Fruhvirtova, ranked No 107, won against Romanian Ana Bogdan (2-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round.
The teenager had been at 3-3 with Sabalenka in the first set, but the defending champion’s experience saw her through.
“For someone 16 years old she’s doing an incredible job. I wish I had been on that level when I was 16,” said the Belarusian on court afterwards.
“I’m super-happy with the win. I tried to just fight for every point.”
