Australian Open: Ruud reaches second round

Norwegian Casper Ruud, the second seed, won against Czech Tomas Machac 6-3, 7-6 (6), 6-7 (5), 6-3 to reach the second round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Tuesday.

Ruud, ranked No 3, will face American Jenson Brooksby next.
