Australian Open: Qualifier Cobolli takes out 18th-seeded Jarry

Italian qualifier Flavio Cobolli came through a slugfest on Day 2 at the Australian and defeated hard-hitting Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 18 seed, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 to reach the second round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Monday afternoon.

The victory marked the Italian’s maiden main draw win at the Grand Slams – the world No 102 will face Russia’s Pavel Kotov in the second round.
