Australian Open: Machac makes second round

Tomas Machac won against Japanese lucky loser Shintaro Mochizuki 7-5, 6-1, 7-5 to move into the second round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Sunday.

This is the third time in four years that Machac has reached the second round at the Australian Open, It is the only Slam where he has won a main draw so far in his career.

Machac, ranked No 73, will face the winner of the match between American Frances Tiafoe, the No 17 seed, and Croat Borna Coric next.
