No 19 seed Madison Keys reached the last 16 of the Australian Open by winning against No 10 seed Danielle Collins 6-4, 6-4 at Melbourne Park.
Keys, ranked No 14, will face Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 6 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, Madison Keys beat Ann Li (6-4, 7-5) and edged out Romanian qualifier Elena-Gabriela Ruse (7-6 (1), 2-6, 7-5).
Collins, ranked No 11, defeated Ukrainian qualifier Daria Snigur (7-6 (4), 6-3) and Australian qualifier Destanee Aiava (7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the first Grand Slam tournament of the 2025 season.
