Australian Open: Halys through to second round

Frenchman Quentin Halys edged out South African qualifier Lloyd Harris 4-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5, 7-6 (2) to move into the second round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Sunday.

This is the second time in seven main draw appearances at the Australian Open that Halys has reached the second round, the first one coming in his debut in 2016.

Halys, ranked No 101, will face the winner of the match between American Sebastian Korda, the No 29 seed, and qualifier Vit Kopriva next.
