No 4 seed Coco Gauff beat Caroline Dolehide 7-6 (2), 6-2 to move into the third round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Wednesday night.
Gauff, ranked No 4, will face American Alycia Parks next.
Coco Gauff won against Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (6-3, 6-0) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Dolehide, ranked No 43, defeated French qualifier Leolia Jeanjean (6-2, 6-4).
