Australian Open: Fernandez comes from behind to beat Bucsa
Leylah Fernandez edged out Cristina Bucsa 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 on Wednesday and will face the winner of the match between American Coco Gauff, the No 3 seed, and Jodie Burrage in the next round

Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 30 seed, moved into the third round of the Australian Open by edging out Spaniard Cristina Bucsa 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 at Melbourne Park on Wednesday.
Fernandez, ranked No 29, will face the winner of the match between American Coco Gauff, the No 3 seed, and Jodie Burrage next.
The 22-year-old Canadian beat Ukrainian Yuliia Starodubtseva (7-5, 6-4) in the previous round of the first Grand Slam tournament of the 2025 season.
In the previous round of the first Grand Slam tournament of the 2025 season, Bucsa, ranked No 110, won against French wildcard Chloe Paquet (6-2, 6-3).
