American Christopher Eubanks advanced to the second round of the Australian Open by winning against Japanese Taro Daniel 6-4, 6-2, 6-3 at Melbourne Park on Monday.

Eubanks, ranked No 35, will play Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 5 seed, next.
