Australian Open: Auger-Aliassime books spot in second round after five-hour marathon v Thiem
Felix Auger-Aliassime defeated Dominic Thiem 6-3, 7-5, 6-7 (5), 5-7, 6-3 on Monday and will face qualifier Hugo Grenier in the next round

Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 27 seed, advanced to the second round of the Australian Open by winning against Austrian Dominic Thiem 6-3, 7-5, 6-7 (5), 5-7, 6-3 at Melbourne Park on Monday.
It was the longest match of Auger-Aliassime’s career thus far, clocking in at four hours and 59 minutes.
Auger-Aliassime, ranked No 30, will face qualifier Hugo Grenier next.
