Zverev gets past Bu in Rio de Janeiro opener

Top seed Alexander Zverev defeated China’s Bu Yunchaokete 7-6 (4), 6-4 in round one of the Rio Open at the Jockey Club Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday night.

Zverev broke serve three times while advancing in two hours and four minutes. The first set alone lasted one hour and 18 minutes.

The world No 2 will next face Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko.
