Zverev, Dimitrov, Tiafoe and Shelton among singles players in Indian Wells doubles field

The BNP Paribas Open announced its initial doubles entry list on Tuesday. Among the singles players scheduled to take part are Alexander Zverev, Grigor Dimitrov, Frances Tiafoe, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul.

No tournament attracts more star singles players to its doubles field than the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, and the 2025 edition will be no exception.

On the men’s side, Alexander Zverev is taking the court with good friend Marcelo Melo. They also partnered each other each of the past two years in Indian Wells. Melo is a two-time runner-up at this Masters 1000 tournament (2017 and 2019, both with Lukasz Kubot).

There are a couple of all-American marquee pairings among singles players. Ben Shelton is teaming up with Alex Michelsen, while Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul will also try their hand in the doubles draw. Shelton was a doubles runner-up at the 2023 Citi Open in Washington, D.C.; Michelsen reached the final of the 2024 Cincinnati Masters. Fritz is a former Indian Wells singles champion (2022); Paul made a run to the semi-finals last March.

Additional star power on the double entry list includes Grigor Dimitrov and Frances Tiafoe. Dimitrov signed up with doubles specialist Jean-Julien Rojer, who is 4-0 all time in Grand Slam finals (three men’s, one mixed). Tiafoe is playing with Francisco Cerundolo.

On the women’ side, tournament officials announced that Jasmine Paolini, Mirra Andreeva, Diana Shnaider and Sofia Kenin are among the doubles participants. Also in the field are Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend, who are the reigning Wimbledon and Australian Open champions.
