Winston-Salem Open: Rinderknech makes last 16
Arthur Rinderknech beat Christopher O’Connell 6-3, 6-4 on Tuesday evening and will face the winner of the match between Belgian David Goffin and Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 5 seed, in the next round
Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, the No 12 seed, beat Australian Christopher O’Connell 6-3, 6-4 to reach the last 16 of the Winston-Salem Open at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex on Tuesday evening.
Rinderknech, ranked No 56, will play the winner of the match between Belgian David Goffin and Italian Luciano Darderi, the No 5 seed, next.
O’Connell, ranked No 86, won against American qualifier Strong Kirchheimer (7-5, 6-4) in the previous round of the Winston-Salem tournament.
