Winston-Salem Open: Top seed Coric battles past Mmoh to reach last eight
The Croat defeated American Michael Mmoh 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-3 on Wednesday
Croat Borna Coric, the top seed, survived a tough three-set battle against American wildcard Michael Mmoh to reach the last eight of the Winston-Salem Open at Wake Forest Tennis Complex on Wednesday.
Coric overcame the loss of the second set in a tiebreaker to win 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-3 to set up a quarter-final clash against Argentinian Juan Manuel Cerundolo.
The Croat defeated Australian Rinky Hijikata (6-2, 7-6 (2)) in the previous round of the Winston-Salem tournament.

Earlier in the tournament, Mmoh, ranked No 94, won against Barbadian qualifier Darian King (6-2, 3-6, 6-3) and No 13 seed Marcos Giron (6-3, 6-4).
