Griekspoor spoils the party for America’s Wolf, makes Citi Open semi-finals

Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor has spoiled the party at Rock Creek Park Tennis Center in Washington on Friday night, eliminating home hope J.J. Wolf 7-5, 6-4 to book a spot in the Citi Open semi-finals tomorrow.
Both men gave a good account of themselves early on Friday evening, with Griekspoor hitting 24 winners to only three unforced errors, while Wolf struck 25 winners to seven unforced errors. However, Griekspoor produced his best when it counted, breaking at 5-5 in the first set, and then again at 1-1 in the second.
Griekspoor, ranked No 37, will face the winner of the match between American Taylor Fritz, the top seed, and Australian Jordan Thompson next.
The Dutchman won against Liam Broady (6-4, 6-2) and French wildcard Gael Monfils (6-4, 1-6, 6-3) ahead of his victory. Earlier in the tournament, Wolf, ranked No 45, won against Radu Albot (6-1, 6-3) and Michael Mmoh (6-4, 7-6 (5)).
