On-song Draper knocks out struggling Musetti to reach Vienna Open final
Jack Draper defeated Lorenzo Musetti 6-2, 6-4 in the Austrian capital. He’ll meet either Karen Khachanov or Alex De Minaur in Sunday’s final
No 7 seed Jack Draper won against Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 6 seed, 6-2, 6-4 to advance to the final of the Vienna Open at the Wiener Stadthalle.
Draper, ranked No 18, will play the winner of the match between Russian Karen Khachanov and Australian Alex De Minaur, the second seed, next.
Jack Draper defeated Japanese wildcard Kei Nishikori (7-6 (5), 7-5), Italian Luciano Darderi (7-5, 6-1) and Tomas Machac (6-3, 3-6, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Vienna tournament, Musetti, ranked No 17, won against Lorenzo Sonego (6-3, 6-2), Frenchman Gael Monfils (W/O) and German Alexander Zverev, the top seed (2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4).
