Video showing Federer winning infamous point from Wimbledon 2019 final against Djokovic goes viral
The ingenious video is a mash-up of two different matches between Federer and Djokovic, and will delight Roger fans
Did Roger Federer win Wimbledon 2019 in a parallel universe? The margins were so small and, having held two match points on his serve, this final has gone down in history as one of the Swiss maestro’s biggest ever missed opportunities.
But just recently, a video has been widely circulating on social media showing a very different end to that infamous match.
In an ingenious mash-up, using clips from similar points across two different matches between Federer and Djokovic, a Twitter user by the name of @lehunterpro has recreated an alternative scenario in which Roger Federer manages to win that fateful point.
The video is so striking that it is making waves across social media, although neither player involved is yet to comment.

While Federer remains out of the equation, having announced his retirement in September last year, this video has given tennis fans another reminder of just how thrilling matches between these two masters of their craft were.
Sadly for Federer fans, the video can’t replace history and the record books will still show Djokovic as having won that final in extraordinary circumstances.
That doesn’t mean it is not fun to watch though!
