US Clay Court Championships: Tiafoe books spot in last eight

Top seed Frances Tiafoe advanced to the quarter-finals of the US Clay Court Championships by beating wildcard Steve Johnson 6-2, 6-4 at River Oaks Country Club in Houston on Saturday.
Tiafoe, ranked No 15, will play Australian Jason Kubler, the No 6 seed, next.
In the previous round of the Houston Open, Johnson, ranked No 152, won against Argentinian Facundo Bagnis (7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-1).
