American Frances Tiafoe, the top seed, moved into the semi-finals of the US Clay Court Championships by beating Australian Jason Kubler, the No 6 seed, 6-4, 6-4 at River Oaks Country Club in Houston on Saturday evening.
Tiafoe, ranked No 15, will face the winner of the match between Dutchman Gijs Brouwer and American J.J. Wolf, the No 5 seed, next.
Ahead of his victory, the American won against wildcard Steve Johnson (6-2, 6-4).
Kubler, ranked No 71, defeated Spanish wildcard Fernando Verdasco (7-6 (7), 6-0) and Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan (6-4, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
