Tsitsipas passes Giron test, into Mallorca semi-finals
Stefanos Tsitsipas won against Marcos Giron 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-3 on Thursday afternoon and will play Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi in the next round

Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, the second seed, defeated American Marcos Giron 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-3 to advance to the last 4 of the Mallorca Open at Mallorca Country Club on Thursday afternoon.
It’s the second time the two have played each other this year – but Tsitsipas won their Acapulco quarter-final with rather more ease, coming through 6-3, 6-4.
Tsitsipas, ranked No 6, will play Frenchman Benjamin Bonzi next.
In the previous round, the Greek won against Belarusian Ilya Ivashka (6-4, 6-4).
Giron, ranked No 67, edged out Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the No 6 seed (6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (2)) and Mackenzie McDonald (4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
