Alert – Jannik Sinner wins Toronto Masters

Italian Jannik Sinner, the No 7 seed, won the Toronto Masters final by defeating Australian Alex De Minaur 6-4, 6-1 at the Aviva Centre on Sunday evening.
Sinner, ranked No 8, beat Matteo Berrettini (6-4, 6-3), Andy Murray (W/O), Frenchman Gael Monfils (6-4, 4-6, 6-3) and American Tommy Paul, the No 12 seed (6-4, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous rounds of the Rogers Cup, De Minaur, ranked No 18, defeated No 11 seed Cameron Norrie (7-5, 6-4), Canadian wildcard Gabriel Diallo (6-4, 7-5), American Taylor Fritz, the No 8 seed (7-6 (7), 4-6, 6-1), Russian Daniil Medvedev, the second seed (7-6 (7), 7-5) and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (6-1, 6-3).
