American Maxime Cressy defeated top seed Cameron Norrie 7-5, 7-5 to move into the semi-finals of the Rothesay International Eastbourne on Thursday.
Cressy, ranked No 60, will face another Brit in the last four – the winner of the match between two wildcards, Jack Draper and Ryan Peniston.
Earlier in the tournament, the American won against No 5 seed Reilly Opelka (6-3, 6-1) and Daniel Evans (7-6 (2), 6-4).
Norrie, ranked No 12, beat American qualifier Brandon Nakashima (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round.
