Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan advanced to the quarter-finals of the Tennis Napoli Cup by beating Portuguese Nuno Borges 7-6 (5), 6-4 on Thursday evening.
Galan, ranked No 72, will play the winner of the match between Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the No 4 seed, and Serb Laslo Djere next.
The Colombian won against Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles (6-4, 6-4) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round, Borges, ranked No 94, won against Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas, the No 7 seed (7-5, 7-6 (5)).
