Canadian lucky loser Vasek Pospisil advanced to the last eight of the Tel Aviv Open by defeating Israeli qualifier Edan Leshem 6-3, 6-2 at Expo Tel Aviv on Thursday evening.
Pospisil, ranked No 149, will face the winner of the match between Serb Novak Djokovic, the top seed, and Spaniard Pablo Andujar next.
The Canadian edged out Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 8 seed (4-6, 7-6 (3), 7-5) ahead of his victory.
In the previous round of the Tel Aviv, Leshem, ranked No 446, won against wildcard Yshai Oliel (6-3, 6-2).
