Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas advanced to the second round of the Swiss Open by winning against Italian wildcard Fabio Fognini 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 at the Roy Emerson Arena in Gstaad.

Ramos-Vinolas, ranked No 79, will face No. 3 seed Lorenzo Sonego next.
