Swiss Open: Halys edges past Klein to advance to quarter-finals

French qualifier Quentin Halys edged out Slovak Lukas Klein 6-3, 6-7 (7), 6-4 to reach the last eight of the Swiss Open at the Roy Emerson Arena in Gstaad.

Halys, ranked No 192, will face the winner of the match between Brazilian qualifier Gustavo Heide and Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the second seed, next.

In the previous round of the Gstaad tournament, the Frenchman defeated Richard Gasquet (7-6 (4), 7-6 (5)).

Klein, ranked No 118, edged out Swiss Stan Wawrinka, the No 8 seed (7-6 (4), 2-6, 7-5) in the previous round of the Gstaad tournament.
