Wawrinka thrills home crowd with win over Mannarino in Basel

Swiss wildcard Stan Wawrinka edged out Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 to advance to the second round of the Swiss Indoors at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel on Wednesday evening.

Wawrinka, ranked No 169, will face American Ben Shelton, the No 6 seed, next.
