Swiss Indoors: Hurkacz makes final, further boosts ATP Finals hopes

Pole Hubert Hurkacz, the No 4 seed, advanced to the final of the Swiss Indoors by edging out Frenchman Ugo Humbert 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (5) at the Halle Saint-Jacques in Basel on Saturday.
Hurkacz, ranked No 11, will play the winner of the match between Dane Holger Rune, the top seed, and Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, the No 6 seed, next.
The victory moves the Pole up to ninth in the ATP Race, further improving his chances of qualifying for the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin.
The Pole beat Serb Dusan Lajovic (7-6 (2), 6-3), German Jan-Lennard Struff (6-1, 6-4) and Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor (6-7 (6), 6-4, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Basel tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Humbert, ranked No 28, won against American Marcos Giron (6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (3)), Chilean Nicolas Jarry, the No 7 seed (7-6 (3), 7-6 (4)) and Swiss wildcard Dominic Stricker (6-4, 2-6, 6-2).
